Choroidal dystrophiesDefinition: Choroidal dystrophy is an eye disorder involving the choroid , a layer of blood vessels between the sclera and retina .
Causes, incidence, and risk factors: Choroidal dystrophies are usually due to an abnormal gene (hereditary).
Signs and tests: An eye surgeon who specializes in the back of the eye (retina specialist) diagnoses choroidal dystrophies. The following tests may be needed to diagnose the condition:
Treatment: Choroidal dystrophies are usually treated with observation.
