Scheduling Your Exam
- Typically, your doctor's office will call and schedule your exam for you at one of our two convenient locations. We do our best to provide same-day appointments.
- Be sure to advise us of any special circumstances:
- If you have any physical limitations (such as oxygen, wheelchair) or allergies (such as iodine, tape).
- If you may be pregnant or are currently breast-feeding.
- If you have a pacemaker, aneurysm clips, or other metal in your body.
- If you are claustrophobic.
- If you have had previous Ultrasound, X-ray, CT, or MRI exams and where they were taken.
Note: If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please give us 24 hours notice so we can accommodate other patients.
On The Day Of Your Exam, please bring:
- The referral slip if you received one from your doctor. We must have this to perform the exam.
- Your insurance card and pre-authorization information.
- Worker's comp information, if applicable.
- Prior X-rays or scans if you have been instructed to do so.
Insurance Billing
Southwest Imaging is an approved provider for most insurance carriers and health plans in our area. Please call our office to determine if your insurance plan is contracted with us.
If you provide us with the necessary claims information, we will submit your claim to:
- Primary (and secondary) insurance carriers
- Worker's compensation
- Auto insurance
- Personal injury carrier
Pre-authorization
Most insurance requires a pre-authorization or precertification before your exam can take place. Please call the number on your insurance card to see what your insurance requires.
Please note: Your physician's order for the exam is not the same as insurance authorization.
If You Don't Have Insurance…
Please contact our office for an estimate of the cost of your exam. You can pay at the time of service or, if necessary, we can work with you to set up a payment plan.
