Southwest is committed to protecting your privacy. Please read the Southwest Secure E-mail Privacy Statement below.
This Southwest Secure E-mail Privacy Statement applies to e-mails, their attachments and all information exchanged via the Southwest Secure E-mail service (Service). It does not apply to those Southwest sites and services that do not display or link to this statement or that have their own privacy statements.
Collection of Your Personal Information
In order to access the Southwest Secure E-mail service, you will be asked to sign in from within your personal e-mail account with a self-generated password, which we refer to as your credentials.
Southwest's Secure E-mail service shall not ask you to provide personal information, such as your name, home or work address or telephone number. We shall not collect demographic information, such as your ZIP code, age, or gender.
We may collect information about your use of the Secure E-mail service, but only to evaluate the security, stability and availability of the Service. Certain activity logs and information may be collected and reported to legal authorities, as required and permitted by law.
Use of Your Personal Information
Southwest's Secure E-mail service shall not collect your personal information, other than your personal e-mail account name and self-selected password, for the expressed purpose of granting you access to this Service.
Sharing of Your Personal Information
Except as described in this statement, we will not disclose your personal information outside of Southwest and its controlled subsidiaries and affiliates without your consent.
We may access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served on Southwest; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Southwest (including the enforcement of our agreements); or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Southwest services or members of the public.
Accessing Your Personal Information
The Southwest Secure E-mail service does not store your patient or personal information, with the exception of your personal e-mail account address and your self-selected password. This information is required to validate your access to secure messages intended for you.
Security of Your Personal Information
Southwest is committed to protecting the security of your personal health information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. When we transmit highly confidential information over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
It is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a computer with anyone you should always choose to log out before leaving a site or service to protect access to your information from subsequent users.
Controlling "Spam" or Unsolicited E-mail
Southwest is concerned about controlling unsolicited commercial e-mail, or "spam." Southwest has a strict Anti-Spam Policy prohibiting the use of any e-mail account to send spam. While Southwest continues to actively review and implement new technology, such as expanded filtering features, there is no currently available technology that will totally prevent the sending and receiving of unsolicited e-mail. Southwest will not knowingly send or forward SPAM.
