Customizing Your Surgical Treatment
Southwest uses state-of-the art diagnostic technology and an interdisciplinary team of experts as part of the planning process for your cancer care. Your physician may recommend that your treatment should involve surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, or a combination of these options.
Our Services
Depending on the type of surgery needed, minimally invasive approaches may be available to you. The benefits of minimally invasive surgery can include decreased scarring, less pain, a lower risk of infection, and a shorter recovery time.
Why Select Southwest for Cancer-Related Surgery?
Southwest Medical Group has immediate access to oncology surgeons and oncoplastic surgeons who are experts in treating cancer patients. For example, with breast cancer patients, treatments may range from biopsy to lumpectomy to mastectomy.
In addition to breast surgery, associated lymph nodes often need surgical attention. Working in partnership with Southwest's surgeons, our Lymphedema Specialty Clinic can do baseline measurements and offer other services to help reduce the complications of lymphedema.
Plastic surgery may be an option for physical reconstruction after cancer-related surgery. For example, breast reconstruction following a mastectomy is one of several procedures offered by Pacific Surgical Specialists.
