Relay for Life: July 18-19, 2009

Chances are, you may know one of the more than 1200 cancer patients treated during a single year at Southwest's Regional Cancer Center. Hope is growing! Southwest is leading the way with new treatments and research, and is a Platinum sponsor for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, July 18-19, 2009 at Columbia River High School in Vancouver. The event runs 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. over the 24-hour period. Southwest's sponsorship activities include:

The candlelight changes from HOPE to CURE 
above the luminaria-lined path.

    

Luminarias

As twilight settles over Clark County, hundreds of glowing luminarias will honor people affected by cancer. (A luminaria is a small bag filled with sand that cradles a candle.)

Specialty gift baskets

Specialty gift baskets have been created and donated by Southwest employees and volunteers to raise money for the Relay, including:

Ticket sales ($1 apiece or 6 for $5) are at Southwest Washington Medical Center, July 14-17. Drawings will be held at the Relay for Life. You do not need to be present to win.
