High school diploma or equivalent

6 plus months in a role where majority of duties involved providing customer interaction and/or assistance which included identifying customer needs, responding and resolving or externship in a medical setting in lieu of 6 months experience or equivalent education and/or experience

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Must demonstrate sensitivity to patients and families, socio-economic, cultural and special needs

Demonstrated prioritization, initiative and excellent attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team

Computer skills to include ability to keyboard at 45 WPM, ability to quickly and accurately enter data and to navigate multiple software programs

Working knowledge of database systems

Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing needs

Prefer: 1 plus year's hospital registration or physician office experience (or equivalent); medical terminology; knowledge of insurance billing; familiar with HBOC computer systems
