A Stroll in the Park...for a Good Cause!

This summer several of the Stroke Support groups met at Esther Short Park to participate in RiverWalk 2007. We were there not only for ourselves, but to show support for DisAbility Resources, where our afternoon group meetings are held. Overall, more than $300,000 was raised to benefit nonprofit organizations in Clark County!

We had a great time. Some walked the entire course, some a partial way, and some came to be our cheerleaders.

Our support groups are really a family and share these good times as well as those not so good. Often it takes talking to someone who has been or is in the same place as you, experienced the same feelings and tribulations, in order to understand why you feel like you do some days.

Consider coming to one of the support group meetings just to try it out. Survivors, caregivers and family members are all welcome!

And … we had so much fun at RiverWalk, we are 'kicking around' ideas for a walk again in 2008 … come join us!
