Southwest is proud to introduce robotic surgery to Clark County, becoming the first in the Portland-Vancouver region to use advanced high-definition robotics for urology and gynecological procedures.
The state-of-the-art da Vinci(r) Surgical System allows physicians to perform minimally invasive procedures that before could only be done using traditional surgical techniques. The result is fewer complications, shorter recovery times and less postoperative pain for our patients.
Southwest's investment of the da Vinci Surgical System includes sophisticated high-definition imaging with advanced robotic technology, allowing physicians to operate up to four robotic arms through small, dime-size incisions. The system seamlessly translates the surgeon's hand, wrist and finger movements into precise, real-time movements of surgical instruments inside the patient.
By enhancing surgical capabilities, the da Vinci Surgical System helps to improve clinical outcomes and redefine standards of care. Patients may experience the following benefits: reduced trauma to the body, reduced blood loss and need for transfusions, less post-operative pain and discomfort, less risk of infection, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery and return to normal daily activities, less scarring and improved cosmesis.
