3. Confidential assessment and counseling for employees
An employee assistance program provides confidential assessment and counseling for the company's employees. Having an EAP available provides employees an opportunity to address personal problems before they get out of hand and begin affecting their performance at work. This is true because an EAP not only serves the employee, but all of his/her immediate family members. In many cases, the short term counseling we provide furnishes the employee or family member with sufficient "tools" to address the issue at hand. In cases of long-term or more serious issues, the EAP counselor acts as an assessment, information and referral resource to assist the individual in finding professional and cost-effective counseling in the community.
