Turnaround Times
The philosophy of the laboratory is to run tests as soon as specimens are received, and to batch only when necessary due to the nature of the assay or instrumentation. We offer the following for inpatient and outpatient services:
Inpatient
| STAT Phlebotomy: |
Within 20 minutes of notification |
| STAT Testing: |
Within 30 minutes of specimen receipt in the lab for tests available and appropriate for a STAT priority |
| Routine Testing: |
Within 4 hours |
| AM Rounds: |
90% of results to nursing units by 7:00AM |
Outpatient
| STAT Testing: |
Within 60 minutes of specimen receipt in the lab for tests available and appropriate for a STAT priority |
| Routine Testing: |
Within 4-24 hours for most tests. Microbiology cultures and esoteric testing can take longer. Please call Client Services (360-514-3177) for specific test information. |
| STAT Pickup Service: |
This is available to clinics and physician offices. Under normal circumstances a courier will arrive at the clinic/physician office within 1 hour. While every effort is made to meet this goal, situations may arise which can affect courier arrival time (distance, extreme weather, and traffic). Call Client Services for a STAT pickup.
